We May Be in a Battle, But Freedom is in Sight

We May Be in a Battle, But Freedom is in Sight

We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. —2 Corinthians 10:5

What are the speculations and lofty things Paul is referring to in this verse? He’s talking about spiritual warfare in the realm of our thoughts. This is the territory of the enemy. The enemy moves in the realm of thought. Even before words are spoken, there are thoughts. Words just give verbal expression to thoughts. So the base level for spiritual warfare is the level of the mind.

God wants you and me to become so alive in our self-awareness and so strong in our spirit that we’re monitoring every thought that is presented to us and casting down every thought of worry, terror, deception, distraction, lust, or inferiority. Every single thought that comes at us that is from the realm of darkness, Messiah Jesus wants us to challenge it, take hold of it, and cast it down.

Beloved one, I speak over you right now a supernatural divine impartation by the living Word of God through the Ruach HaKodesh to wake up, pick up the weapons of warfare, and fight to tear off you every thought that is exalting itself above the Lordship of Messiah Yeshua. As you do, you will ascend to reign in Christ Jesus and live in the courage and confidence that has been ordained for you. It’s time to be free in the battleground of our minds.

Now is the Time to be Strong and Courageous

I know some people see themselves as naturally timid, but that’s no excuse to disobey God. The Bible says, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”1 We need to get on the same page with God and stop accepting natural dispositions that aren’t in alignment with who He has called us to be. We need to fight the good fight of faith, breaking the power of intimidation. We are called and commanded to step into a posture of strength.

I know this is easier said than done, but we can’t give the devil any room in our lives or make excuses for what God hates. We all struggle with fear. But the Lord is calling us to crush fear under our feet and be transformed into bold, confident people who are full of faith. This won’t happen all at once. It’s a process. But as we refuse to listen to the devil’s lies, we will progressively move from strength to strength.

Beloved one, there’s a banner of victory over us. Let’s fight each day. Then instead of running from the devil, he’ll be running from us! The hunted will become the hunter.

God Has Made Us to be Set Free

Through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.—Acts 13:39

The Exodus story contains symbolism that is very relevant for us today. God’s people, Israel, were living in captivity in Egypt, oppressed by the powers of darkness forced upon them through Pharaoh. Pharaoh intended to do only one thing, and that was to subject God’s people to slavery.

Similarly, you and I, as God’s people today, find ourselves oppressed by the powers of darkness. Satan has one thing intended for us: to take us captive and separate us from the freedom Jesus brings. But just as ancient Israel was delivered by God through the blood of a lamb at Passover, we have been redeemed by the blood of Yeshua—the ultimate and eternal Lamb of God.

God intervened in the lives of His chosen people, freeing them and bringing them to Himself. And Father has the same intent for us. He wants us to be free, victorious, joyful, and filled with supernatural peace. Although you may be struggling right now, I want you to know God has planned something greater for you, and it will make all your sorrows disappear.

The freedom Father is bringing us into doesn’t happen all at once. God is driving out our enemies little by little, just as He did for Israel. As we stay the course, we will continue to make progress toward the ultimate goal— the freedom of God Himself!
