A Miraculous Revelation

A Miraculous Revelation

I wish I had emphasized the second secret more throughout my years of ministry, but I got caught up in the trend of deliverance (and if I’m honest, I, too, over-blamed the devil). This is why I wrote my book now, The Secrets to Maintaining Your Deliverance, to under blame the devil and reclaim our personal accountability in the maintenance of our deliverance. In doing so, let’s begin to place a high emphasis on Scripture again and incorporate it into our daily lives.

So, what is this secret? Let’s take a look at the following scripture:

God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you. This message was kept secret for centuries and generations, but now it has been revealed to God’s people. For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This assures you of sharing his glory.

—Colossians 1:25–27, NLT (Emphasis Added)

The King James Version of verse 27 uses the phrase “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” What I’m about to disclose to you will be one of the most important revelations you will receive, superseding anything else I wrote in my book. It’s this: Christ is in you. Let me say that again: The secret is Christ in you.

This one revelation will cause you to stand firm in your freedom more than anything else. Christ is living inside us. When Christ is living inside us, we can then walk that out. Every demon, devil, and generational curse must return to hell where it came from.

The secret hidden throughout history was that at an appointed time the eternal Son of God would live inside His people, causing them to walk victoriously over the flesh and the devil. When believers truly embrace the truth that Christ is living on the inside, they begin to realize that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in their mortal bodies (Rom. 8:11). This same Jesus—who conquered sin, death, and the grave—dwells within each of us. Wow! That changes everything. The demon phobia that grips many believers who seek deliverance dissipates, and a new holy boldness strengthens them. They begin to walk boldly, knowing that “greater is he that is in [them] than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

This same revelation of Christ in you is what the early church experienced in the Book of Acts. They had no preoccupation with signs and wonders. But when they truly understood that Christ lived within them, the victorious and miraculous became their normal way of life.

And guess what? Christ in you cancels out the need for multiple deliverance sessions. I’m not saying you shouldn’t seek deliverance if you need it; I have experienced six sessions during my own Christian journey. But once I began to understand the riches of Jesus’ glorious inheritance in the saints, deliverance sessions for me became far less frequent.

Repeat after me out loud: “Christ in me, the hope of glory.” Now, didn’t that feel good to affirm? Speak this out loud one more time so the demons of hell can hear you. Then say it as many times as you need to, until it sinks into your mind.
