The Tongue of Fire
Evil is working in America more through the perversion of the spoken word than through any other means. By hijacking the meaning of words, the cultural villains of our nation are taking over our freedoms. For instance, "equality" programs are not at all equal; they punish a certain segment of society and deny them an education and jobs. "Inclusion" means exclusion when you are the demographic they want to exclude.
We need a tongue of fire! It is a desperately needed gift. The best description I can give you for this gift is the Luke 21:15, "For I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist."
The tongue of fire is a gift. The fire that fell on the altar when Elijah prayed can fall on you. I am counting on it! The web of deceit Satan has spun over our nation cannot be cut with just normal words. God needs voices in our world. As evil grows stronger and more sophisticated, the Holy Spirit wants to give chosen vessels a tongue of fire. But that means communication cannot stop there.
Since it is all communication, as the chosen come to the throne of God and offer themselves willingly to confront the curse of America, they will receive the language, the authority, the precise words, and the opportunity to speak them.
But before you can receive the fire from heaven, you must have some down-to-earth instruction on what speaking against evil involves.
A voice in America's Wilderness
There are endless right ways to speak out against evil. A parent can challenge Woke school boards and administrators. A believer can answer the Holy Spirit prompting to run for political office.
The lost are of civil discourse is the most common and effective means of pushing back against evil. You can dispel lies by talking with loved ones, friends, and those in your circle of influence. The key is prayer and preparation. You must arm yourself with good information. It is sad but true that we are all journalists now. That means use must double-check sources and verify our facts.
Many preachers have embarrassed themselves. They stepped right out of a congregation's safe atmosphere and into the political arena's glare. They can get away with saying certain things before an adoring crowd, but not when they enter a den of lions with messy and slipshod material. Proverbs 25:26 says, "A righteous man who falters before the wicked is like a murky spring and a polluted well."
Leftists can lie with impunity. The media is biased toward them. But Christians cannot misstate anything—not even by accident. They will jump all over you. It is not fair, but that is the arena we are operating in right now.
But there is consolation in this if you realize—you are not trying to win over your opponent—you are trying to win the audience.
Think about it. Those videos of brave moms confronting a school board did not win over the school board. In fact, the board dug in its heels. But the crowd cheered, and the video went viral. You have great power for influence because you have the Holy Spirit.
When you know your information inside and out, you will have the secret edge of debate: the power to remain calm.
You can depend on angry leftists to have a meltdown and start screeching. It is common for them to lack substance and honest facts. They love to spout slogans. And they lie with impunity because the media is biased toward them.
We need to study! First, to lay a foundation and worldview from the Bible, and then add useful information. "Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved, a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth" (2 Tim. 2:15, AMP).
How pathetic do we look when the church says that Satan stole America when, in case after case, the church gave it away. But the rest of the story is even worse.
The American church not only stayed out of many parts of American life—she did not even handle her own business. The church stopped winning souls and making disciples.
The long, sad story of modern American Christianity is one of false success, counterfeit goals, and breathtaking abdication of her calling. How can we possible be surprised by the moral morass coming for our children?
So, let's do something about all this! Yes, we begin with mundane human practicality. We need to study and learn about parent's rights, political agendas, and the tactics of Woke. But after that, we need a supernatural gift. The tongue of fire!
